Round 3 Pairings: 6-5, 1-3, 4-2
Round's 1-2:
Like taking candy from a Tommy?! I guess they are using FIDE rules at this tournament. My money is still on the young'n.
In the top section Coon's takes down one of Wisconsin's newest experts in round 2 after drawing NM Williams. Maybe this will be Coon's charge towards 2000?!
The top section will be a neck and neck race until the finish, but I would put my money on Veech or Kohlenberg.
Hmmm… in fact I would give the "new guard" 2 to 1 vs. the "old guard" in the top section.
With a total of 45 players this is the largest tournament I can remember in club history, the club is packed like a ticket line for a Hannah Montana Concert,
Full of children ready to fight for what they want J
Perhaps all the youngsters will beat each other up and allow Bill Williams to win comfortably?
ReplyDeleteWhy isn't John Veech an option in the poll?
ReplyDeleteRyan Jayne - if you're reading - any chance you'd want to make up the game at the Polish fest event tonight? I'll (my mom) will buy you a sausage and a beer if you make the drive - or maybe that's against FIDE rules?! Otherwise, we'll schedule a makeup when I see you Wednesday. Tommy S.
ReplyDeleteTommy- Will you be at WCC on Wednesday, or will you be doing the evening session at chess camp?
ReplyDelete-Troy
Hi Troy - Do you know if you and I are playing each other? If we are, we could definitely play at the camp site, instead of driving to Waukesha. Otherwise, I think I should go to Waukesha since I'm missing other games this summer and have to do alot of rescheduling (or forfeiting if FIDE is in play).
ReplyDeleteTommy- We are supposed to play on the 24th so yes, I think we could play at the camp (If FIDE is OK with that).
ReplyDeleteAshish, what about the provisionals in the lowest section? My nephew's one and one and it'll be hard for me to get over there for a 10 rounder to see how he does each game. I didn't see his name up. No big deal, just wanna see how the lil' tikes doing.
ReplyDeleteAny updates from Wednesday?
ReplyDeleteYou see the the Preliminary results posted on the USCF site, with ratings changes. I never seen results posted mid tournament. Not sure why this was done, other than its a long tournament, and will help keep impact the June rating (and thus August Supplement).
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone else know why it was done?
